We are seeking experienced consultants to advise and support the Global Evergreening Alliance on the best pathways for Gold Standard for Global Goals or Verified Carbon Standard certification.
Global Evergreening Alliance
The Global Evergreening Alliance is a dynamic global organisation that seeks to address climate change, food insecurity, poverty, and land degradation by promoting large-scale adoption of evergreen agriculture, agroforestry, and land restoration practices.
We restore degraded agricultural, pastoral, and forest lands globally, through nature-based approaches – such as evergreening and regenerative agriculture – with the engagement of local communities. This approach leads to more productive and resilient landscapes and agricultural systems, providing small-scale farmers, pastoralists, and forest-dependent communities with improved and diversified livelihoods.
We provide a collaborative platform to support and facilitate massive-scale environmental restoration and sustainable agricultural intensification projects – increasing biodiversity and mitigating and adapting to the impacts of climate change on a globally significant scale. The Global Evergreening Alliance works with 100 member organisations to implement massive land restoration programs. The Alliance fosters collaboration, learning, sharing and harmonisation across institutions, sectors, and borders. Restore Africa
Global Evergreening Alliance is the project developer of multiple projects in East and West Africa under the banner of the Restore Africa program. The projects aim to restore degraded lands through agroforestry and Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) and improve the livelihoods and resilience of small farmers. The Alliance coordinates and oversees the design and implementation of the projects through the Program Coordination Unit (PCU) in Nairobi and the Global Evergreening Alliance Secretariat in Melbourne. Several of our projects seek certification by the Gold Standard for Global Goals; others opt for the Verified Carbon Standard.
We have several upcoming opportunities for seeking experienced consultants who can provide innovative solutions and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Interested consultants should have a proven track record in preparing Gold Standard or Verified Carbon Standard Project Designs and Monitoring Plans. They should deeply understand the standard, relevant methodologies and protocols and possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience in remote sensing and working with NGO partners would be considered beneficial.
